How to clip, trim, and replace Kaltura videos

There are three new video editing features Kaltura has introduced: Create Clip, Trim Video, and Replace Video

Create Clip

You can now create a clip from an existing video. To create a clip, go into the Media Gallery and click on the desired video.  From the Actions dropdown menu, select Create Clip and it will take you to the panel below:

To create the clip, simply drag the beginning of the gray strip where you would like the clip to begin and drag the end of the gray strip where you would like the clip to end. You can then preview the clip by clicking the play button in the center of the video. To create the clip, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Create Clip

Trim Video

You now have the option to trim any unnecessary ends of an uploaded video. To do this, simply edit the video and go to the Trim Video tab. To remove video from the beginning, grab the beginning of the gray bar and move it towards the center. To remove video from the end, grab the end of the gray bar and move it towards the center. After making these changes, you can preview your edits. Once you are satisfied, select Trim Video, and it will finalize your edits.

Replace Video

You now have the option to replace a video in your existing Media Gallery on your desktop with one on your desktop. Once you edit the video, simply go to the Replace Video tab. Select Upload from Desktop, then select the video you would like to switch with the video in your Media Gallery. If you have embedded the replaced video in your course site, it will be replaced by the new video.
