Updates to "My Grades"

Your Grades at a Glance

The look and feel of My Grades was revamped for the Fall 2014 semester to make it easier than ever to view grades. Also, you can check grades for all your courses in one place!

1. Check Grades from the Course

On the course menu, click Student Tools followed by My Grades.


The My Grades page appears. You will be able to see your grades for the course.

  1. Above the list of gradable items, you can narrow the list by selecting All, Graded, Upcoming, or Submitted. By default, all items are listed by course, regardless of status.
  2. The Order by drop-down list allows you to change the order by Course Order, Last Activity, or Due Date. By default, items are ordered by course order.
  3. If your instructor included feedback during grading, it is included inline. You can also point to a title and click the arrow that appears to show the type of graded item, such as assignment or blog.
  4. If your gradable item has not been graded, the Grade column contains a symbol indicating its status. After an item is graded, the grade appears in the Grade column. to view more detail, click a graded item's title.

2. Check Grades from Global Navigation

You can check any course's grades from any place in Blackboard by using the new Global Navigation menu. In the page header, click the arrow next to your name to access Global Navigation. Click the My Grades icon.

The My Grades page appears. You will see grades for all your courses.

  1. On the left hand side of the screen, you can sort by All Courses or Last Graded.
  2. Above the list of gradable items, you can narrow the list by selecting All, Graded, Upcoming, or Submitted. By default, all items are listed by course, regardless of status.

  5. If your gradable item has not been graded, the Grade column contains a symbol indicating its status. After an item is graded, the grade appears in the Grade column. To view more detail, click a graded item's title.

My Grade Item Status

The following table describes the symbols appearing on the My Grades page.

SymbolDescription
- Item has not been completed. No information is available.
italic text button Item is completed, but will not have a grade (for items such as surveys).
Item has been submitted. This item is waiting to be reviewed by your instructor.
Grade Item has been graded. Click the grade to view detailed feedback.
paragraph style button Attempt is in progress. This item has not been submitted.
select font face button Grade is exempted for this user. If you do not complete this assignment, it will not affect your grade.
select font size button Error has occurred. Contact your instructor.
