How to create and edit a rubric in Blackboard

Blackboard Rubrics help instructors evaluate student work consistently and objectively by listing evaluation criteria for any given assignment or gradable item (assignment, discussion board, wiki, journal, or blog). Feedback to students is also automatically available in the Grade Center.

To create a rubric:

  1. Go to Control Panel >Course Tools > Rubrics.
  2. When the rubrics page loads, select Create Rubric.
  3. Next, when the rubric setup page loads, provide a name and an optional description.

Rubrics default to three rows and three columns with the presets Criteria and Levels of Achievement. To add a new row, select Add Row. To add a new column, select Add Column.
